I got word from WKU media relations a little while ago that the Lady Toppers basketball team will have its first official practice of the season from 7-10 p.m. tonight.
Starting last season, women’s basketball programs can start practice 40 days from their season opener, but can practice just 30 days in that span.
WKU opens its regular season on Nov. 12 against Towson.
Head coach Mary Taylor Cowles and select players will be available at 2:15 p.m. tomorrow to talk about kicking things off, so I’ll have more then.
There will be plenty of new faces around the program this year. The Lady Toppers have seven new freshmen, including one walk-on, as well as two new assistant coaches in Tim Riley and Camryn Whitaker.
Check back tomorrow for more.
