It feels very odd for a Thursday, but I’ll be leaving in a few hours to cover some high school football action at Monroe County.
There are actually just two local games this week, as most schools are on fall break.
South Warren plays at Monroe County, and Butler County hosts Todd County Central tomorrow night.
South Warren is trying to record its first-ever two-game win streak after claiming the first victory in program history two weeks ago against Caverna.
Monroe County is 4-3 but has lost to three very good local teams – Glasgow, Warren East and Franklin-Simpson.
The Falcons are led by quarterback Chad Wilson, who’s thrown for seven touchdowns, and running back Corey Shirley, who has 641 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.
Micheal Compton will be covering tomorrow’s game at Butler County, while I’ll cover the first day of the KHSAA Girls’ State Golf Tournament.
Check back tomorrow for coverage of it all.
