With the winter recruiting dead period now over, Kentucky football coach Mark Stoops and his staff hit the road today to visit several prospects in the state.
Stoops’ stops included a trip to Warren East to visit junior linebacker/running back Eli Brown.
The 6-foot-2-inch, 192-pound Brown decommitted from Vanderbilt in October after giving the Commodores a verbal pledge in June. He also has scholarship offers from Kentucky, Ohio State and Western Kentucky, and reported interest from Louisville, Florida, Cincinnati and Indiana.
Brown is rated a four-star recruit by Rivals and is No. 98 in the recruiting site’s Rivals100 for the 2015 class. He had 50 tackles and 1,186 rushing yards with 15 touchdowns in 2013 for Warren East before tearing his ACL in the final game of the regular season.
Stoops is also expected to visit South Warren senior defensive lineman Adrian Middleton, a UK commit, today.
The 6-foot-4-inch, 275-pound prospect is rated a three-star recruit by Rivals. His other offers include Louisville, WKU, Missouri and Middle Tennessee.
Middleton can’t officially sign with the Wildcats until National Signing Day on Feb. 5.
